Boxing Day Sales 2015 - The Best DealsThe buying frenzy for the holiday season has almost come to a close which also means it’s time to one of the most famous sales of the year, the Boxing Day Sales 2015. The best deals on the streets of Britain. For shoppers who will be returning to High Street in crowds, the best Boxing Day bargain stores up and down the United Kingdom include Selfridges, John Lewis, Next, and Amazon, among others.

As expected, shoppers from different walks of life flooded the High Street hunting for bargains and incidentally, Selfridges has enjoyed the most profitable hour in its century long history. At 10 in the morning, point of sale across the UK for department store Selfridges has reached more than £2million which is 2% higher compared to its past highest revenues.

A long queue of people stayed on the streets across Britain from 1am as excitement started to build up and eventually slumped into violence upon opening of the stores. Fights have broken out in some reports in the midst of reported stampedes in some stores.

According to analysts, part of the success of the Boxing Day Sales this year is due to the mild weather and the deluge of foreign shoppers. Retails this year is expected at £3.5billion.

According to Diane Wehrle, insights director at retail analysts Springboard, “It is encouraging to see High Streets performing significantly better than Boxing Day last year. This can be put down to an array of enticing offers, the start of clearance and a great atmosphere for customers, in addition to the knock of effect of shoppers heading to their local Shopping Centre, and choosing to have a browse on the High Street too.”

In London, people who lined up outside some stores reached up to 4,000 and according to reports, almost half of them are Middle Eastern and Chinese. In its Oxford Street store, Selfridges is expecting to accommodate over 130,000 customers.
